Yay, finally! I went on a morning walk with my mom. Back in the early days of the pandemic, my mom and I started walking together. She was in te burbs, and I was in Chicago, but every morning, we'd head out, hop on the phone together, and walk.

Well, I wasn't expecting to wake up to snow, but here we are.
It was still great to get outside. Just had to wear a coat, boots, hat, gloves, and a scarf. It's the California weather I love, but I'll survive.
I am listening to an audio book to help me work on my goal of squatting and deadlifting 200lbs, and in one chapter, she suggested signing yourself up for a competition or buying yourself something for achieving the goal.
And I've done those things in the past. They were fine.

Over the years, I've learned that when you miss a day, the BEST thing you can do is just show up again the next day.
You don't need to punish yourself and do double.
And you don't need to add drama and shame yourself for being an imperfect human and say...
A few months ago, California had a tropical storm a brewin' and we had no idea what to expect. We woke up at like 3am and couldn't fall back asleep.
So what did we do? We walked along the ocean. I know. Crazy.
It was just drizzling, but it felt so nice to be outside in a place...
